After almost two years of development, The Cheltenham Racecourse launched one of 2015’s biggest investments in UK sport today, The Princess Royal Stand.
“The new Stand is a departure in sporting hospitality and very much asserts Cheltenham as the leader in British horseracing. Racing is a hugely social occasion and we looked at how customers want to consume … and brought it to life in a setting that is world class.”
Phil Roberts, General Manager at Jockey Club Catering
Taking fine-dining to a new level, the stand offers an atmosphere reminiscent of a private members club. Fireplaces, seafood delis and an outstanding 360 degree views from the balcony are some of the exciting new facilities on offer. Customers can also benefit from digital innovations such as Apple Pay and a wine ordering app in the Owners and Trainers bar.
But exactly what is needed to prepare a stand for service?
The new stand requires 18,000 knives and forks.
There are 14,000 glasses polished and ready to go.
120 chopping boards will be used to prepare the food.
