West indies win the World t20 tournament

Carlos Brathwaite hit the first four balls of the final over for six to give the West Indies the World T20 title over England. Marlon Samuels also scored 85 not out to keep the West Indies in the game throughout the match but it was Brathwaite that delivered the killer blows.

England will take a lot of encouragement from the way they have played throughout the tournament, with Joe Root scoring a half-century in the final and the team as a whole showing an attacking game, there is a lot to come for the England team in the white ball format of the game.

Leicester move seven points clear at the top

The Foxes moved seven points clear at the top of the Barclays Premier League table with six games remaining after Sunday’s win against Southampton. Wes Morgan, connected with a Christain Fuch cross in the first-half to score his first goal of the season. If Leicester can win four of the remaining fixtures, they will win the title.

Konta climbs to #21 in the world

After reaching the final eight at the Miami Open, Konta climbed two places to a career high of #21 in the WTA world rankings. Konta has shown remarkable form this year; at this stage of the season 12 months ago she was ranked #151 in the world. It was also a leap for British number two, Heather Watson, who moved up 14 places to #55 and Naomi Broady went up two places to #78.

Tuilagi scores twice in a remarkable comeback victory for the tigers

The Leicester Tigers produced an incredible second-half comeback to beat Gloucester 35–30 and keep their play-off hopes alive. Manu Tuilagi was in superb form for the Tigers, scoring two tries and a great offload to set up centre partner, Peter Betham. Leicester were 27–13 down at half-time but, with good use of the substitutes, limited Gloucester to scoring only three points in the second-half in a game that will surely go down as one of the best this season.
