England beat Australia for the first time in Brisbane

England went 1-0 up in their three match series against Australia with a fine win in Brisbane which was also their first ever win at the Suncorp Stadium. England started off very slowly going 10-0 down within the first 15 minutes however, the ever steady boot of Owen Farrell kept England within touching distance and a try before half time saw England lead 19-13. Two second half tries for Yarde and Nowell secured the victory for England who will travel to Melbourne for the second test in the hope of sealing a first ever series victory Down Under.

Andy Murray reunited with Ivan Lendl

Murray announced that before the Aegon Championships he reunited with ex-coach Ivan Lendl in the hope of winning another Wimbledon title. Murray has been without a coach since his split with Mauresmo before the French Open and the appointment of Lendl is a very exciting one for Murray fans; under his two years with Lendl, Murray won Olympic gold and also his first Wimbledon title.

England start their Euro 2016 campaign with a draw

On Saturday England started off their Euro campaign with a draw against Russia, after leading 1-0 and dominating the game throughout. Eric Dier scored a magnificent free kick goal in the 73rd minute to put England ahead however, Russia’s Berezutski scored a 92nd minute goal which shattered England’s hopes of getting their tournament off to the best start.

Hamilton wins the Canadian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton won the Canadian Grand Prix after a tense strategic battle with Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel. Vettel looked in control of the race after he shot out of the grid from his third place position to immediately take the lead. Vettel then pitted during a caution period of the race to allow Hamilton back into the lead. Hamilton, who only pitted once compared to Vettel’s two, held onto the race to take the victory and cut the points difference with team mate Nico Rosberg to nine points in the Drivers Championship.
